Home renovations can be disruptive, particularly when they require you to move out for an extended period. We recently worked with a client in Battersea who was undertaking major renovation and extension works, meaning her home would be unavailable for at least nine months.
The move required careful planning. Some belongings needed to go into long-term storage, while others were required at a nearby temporary property. Accurate inventory management was essential – not only for insurance purposes, but to ensure every item ended up exactly where it was meant to be.
Our team packed the entire property over two days, using four movers and two vehicles. Every item was professionally packed, labelled and logged, with clear instructions for whether it was destined for storage or temporary accommodation. This allowed the client to settle into her interim home comfortably, with access to everything she needed during the renovation period.
All stored items were kept securely until the project was complete. Once the renovation and extension were finished, we returned to move her belongings back into the property, carefully reinstating furniture and contents into their correct rooms. Moves like this highlight the value of structured planning and inventory-led storage. By managing both the move out and the return, we were able to reduce disruption and give the client confidence that everything was being looked after throughout a lengthy and complex project.
