Relocating a gallery presents very different challenges to a standard move. When we were appointed to move Eden Gallery, we knew we were handling items that were not only high-value, but often irreplaceable.
Approximately 95% of the items involved were works of art, requiring specialist packing, detailed inventory control and carefully managed storage. Adding to the complexity, the gallery’s new premises were not immediately available, meaning all artwork needed to be stored securely for several weeks between locations.
A team of twelve specialists worked over three days to pack and catalogue the collection, wrapping each piece individually and maintaining a detailed inventory throughout. The artwork was placed into controlled storage, ensuring protection from humidity, temperature fluctuations and environmental risk.
When the new gallery space became available, the same level of care continued. Over five days, a specialist crew unpacked, positioned and installed each piece to the owners’ exact specifications, ensuring the new gallery was ready to open without delay.
